Dover Beach and Cover Me although written in entire different centuries, both reflect a common message; the world is not enough. As you read Dover Beach you conveyed with a message of a certain memory or associations of a personal Titten Abbey. As the mood builds for a wondrous and escripive place, a sudden showing of sadness is released. The poem gives a pessimistic world view. The speaker, however, is able to confide in the comfort of another's love. Springsteins poem Cover Me is just as thematically similar to Dover Beach.
