Online Education The trends of global economic development with its outsourcing and sophisticated cost optimization could not leave unattended virtually any part of our living. All of us are constantly moving towards virtual existence. The growing number of people who work and sometimes even live online has caused such phenomena as online or distant education to appear. One of the first things of which I thought about is: how will now educational institutions control the learning process? How does the teacher now monitor successes or failures of his student? There are no tests, machines, or techniques that could replace human contact between the teacher and the student.
However the answer to this question suddenly appeared to be quite obvious. Growing competition allows only the fastest and most persistent people to succeed in their lives. The distant education is just another challenge for a person wanting to earn his or her success and a decent position in the society. Online schools and colleges, in part, can give these kind of people an unmeasurable experience of what it is like to bear his or her on responsibility for the future. There will be no one to blame, and once the person realizes it, it will be quite evident for him or her that it is probably the best thing to choose, one should and adhere to this simple rule through the rest of the life. However, besides purely motivational and self-consciousness things about online education it is sometimes absolutely inevitable.
It has been a long time since psychologists have found a mental disease called attention-deficit disorder, but only recently one of the working techniques in educating people who are suffering it has been found. Well, of course the idea of having a separate teacher for every student was invented even earlier than education appeared, but only recently, with the development of informational technology people have found a way to accomplish such a task. Today the person does not have to sit in the classroom with the people who are distracting others from educational process. Now, the creation of virtual schools allows the people with heavy disabilities to feel themselves a part of the community and interact (even though it is virtual) with those alike.
Together with those who are having troubles learning, online education is a great possibility for those who are too fast educating themselves. People of the different age groups can now graduate together (I am not talking about prom dates however). Besides, the new horizons of interaction between people open. It is a common place for a virtual classroom to have students from all over the globe.
People have a chance to share the views of different cultures on some particular topic in the real time mode. To me it seems to be one of the best things there could be about online education. As for me I have found several good things about online college. One of them is fact that I can never arrive late to the classroom, no matter, what I will never miss anything important or be late for my test and eventually fail the class.
I do not have to worry about spending some time on the things I need to do urgently, in any case I can catch up with the program that I need. There is also an opportunity to study anytime of the day. If I cannot sleep, I can tune into my virtual classroom and have a good couple of hours of knowledge material. And what is just great about it: I do not need to put myself up, now hair combing, or brushing teeth!
But still one thing is disappointing: I need to turn my assignment in on time. Well, to think about, I guess, it would be a total lack of any purpose behind all of that if it were not that way. Still all of us should remember what it is like to have a live conversation with a friend, a classmate, or a teacher. Let us try to find the ways to speak to live people, and remember that no education can replace the live experience.
